    The introduction of "Sigue" by Ed Sheeran ft. J.Balvin is bold and confident. It's enticing and captivating. From this start, one anticipates two occurrences: one, to groove, to dance, to a track explicitly produced for the club, and two, to hear a song that's beyond the norm of a reggaeton track. However, beyond the introduction, the track falls short. The track offers nothing new to the listener; the hackneyed reggaeton beat found in every reggaeton single is the base for which the single stands. There's even a DJ's horn to mask a switch of vocalists at the end. Additionally, the track fails to have ups and downs. The verse and hook are on the same melodic level; they only differ by their decibels on the production level. Last, the song fails for not knowing what it wants to be: it vacillates between reggaeton, hip-hop, and pop without respect for these forms and any unifying attribute to mold them coherently. This track feels more like background music, made to enjoy the sounds with a cocktail in your hand instead of the composition holistically. "Sigue" does not have the emotiveness or intimacy that Ed Sheeran and J.Balvin's other single, "Forever My Love," possesses. Nonetheless, "Sigue" is still a fun track with which the audience will vibe.
