Although the production is well-done, the lyrics are uplifting, and the vocalist has a strong presence, "Good Day for Living" by Joe Nichols does not move me. The introduction instrumental is redolent of a royalty-free song. The whistles remind me of some commercial that makes you want to go out and skip. I guess this is appropriate as this song promotes that today "is a good day for living." The track does not have many ups and downs. The hook is on the same level as the verses. Hooks are supposed to hook the listener, but sadly, I nearly missed it. A track that promotes good living leaves you forgetting that you once wanted to go out and skip.
