"Funny Girl" by Father John Misty opens with a delicious rolling snare drum. It is redolent of a 1950's lounge track. It is sophisticated, classy, and smooth. It is bold but not in your face. The vocals and the instrument mingled well like peanut butter and jelly. Although there is an expression of pain in the track, the "Funny Girl" bestows a compathy of love and joy, a warm solace that all will be okay, introduction with those rolling snare drums.
